For the last time.... :-(
It happens to everyone: words get jumbled between the brain and mouth, we enter into a conversation a moment too late... or we are simply confused. Ironically, these are the moments that help us remember the important information from class; laughter is a powerful learning tool. This is an opportunity to remember the special moments, lessons, activities, characters, and, of course, the miscommunications from our class. Help me to keep track of them and I will compile these into a booklet at the end of the year. Please remember that class rules apply: I will not tolerate any malicious attacks on any student or teacher. This is not meant to poke fun at anyone; it is meant in a spirit of reliving the occasional happy moment in our very special circle of hell :-)
Period 4 - PLEASE add some moments....it cannot all be so bad, can it?!?! uh oh...

Miss Arney: "Time to play..."
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteMiss Arney taught us that when a person looks to the left, he is telling the truth, and when he looks to the right he is lying. Knowledge is power. Mwahahahahaha!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I don't really know where to put this question, as there is no Random Musings thread, but will there be any more Grammar Challenges?
What is the homework?!?!
ReplyDeleteTheresa, the homework is finish ActII Scenes ii and I think one in Romeo and Juliet and do the sheet on active and passive voices I think that is it.
ReplyDeleteSorry, guys...the webpage is updated for homework/classwork. I just need to do the grammar challenge for the week. There is also a link for Random Musings (aka, homework questions) for the 4th quarter. Sorry for the delay!!!!!
ReplyDeleteToday in class, we were discussing Act 2 scene 1, and it was very strange having Jeremy explain the "joke" when Mercutio mocks Romeo and says that he is under the tree that bears the fruit... you know the rest. (jk Jeremy lol).
ReplyDeleteWhile reviewing Romeo's "pick-up lines," Billy said, "He's good. I think I'm going to take notes."
ReplyDeleteA while ago, Miss Arney gave my graded journal assignment back to me with a little surprise. Apparently, Belle (her dog) was a little jealous that Miss Arney was spending time grading papers instead of being with her, so she grabbed a few of the journals and took off with them. This gives new meaning to the phrase "The dog ate my homework."
ReplyDeleteP.S. Miss Arney, please tell me that those yellow spots on the journal were only saliva!
Today Miss Arney had told us that a common SAT simile to the word imitate was the word ape. So when we rewatched the balcony scene when Romeo was swinging in the trees like a monkey our expression became "Don't ape this at home!"
ReplyDeleteWhen we ere going over Mercutio's lines about Rosaline and her looks. Killeen said "but it doesn't make sense their talking about her lips and forehead and how nice her foot is". The Billy replies "That's not the point".
ReplyDeleteJeremy states that Romeo is being held up by the power of love. Its never good the second time.
ReplyDeleteWhen you have an awkward moment in literature you can count on either Alyssa or Jeremy to explain it to you no matter what it might be about!
ReplyDeletethe "blind bow boy's butt shaft"... enough said. :)
ReplyDeleteFrom period 4: When discussing how Romeo is "already dead" (III iv), Billy suggested he was in a Dante-like "Limbo of love".
ReplyDeleteWhen we found out today in English that one of Jimin's sentences used a person from our venting session called "Professor Bon Bon" in it.
ReplyDeleteyea and now Miss Arney can't go up to professor Bon Bon in fear of saying this to her. Also, today I asked why the grammar sheet was called like dog something and Julie said because you had to woof when doing it. Finally, Miss Arney said and if you do well, you will get a bone instead of "Bonus". Get it... "boneus". It probably sounds stupid but it was just so funny. lol :)
ReplyDeleteHaha, Jimin made everyone laugh today. :)
ReplyDeleteJeremy's birthday call was also funny because there were some whispers and everyone was freaking out to hear it.
Whenever the class jokes about Romeo being so melodramatic it's always funny too. It's not common that an English class is allowed to joke around a bit about Romeo and Juliet. Haha.
Jeremy had stated that he had handed in the homework early. Terence said "do you want a cookie?" Jeremy respond "I'm allergic."
ReplyDelete"Just bring it with you outside!!"
ReplyDeleteMiss Arney referring to our Romeo & Juliet test during the fire drill!
Today when Grace said "The good thing is my grandma's in the hospital." It makes you scared of Grace but you can't help but laugh!
ReplyDeleteToday in class, the pictures were so funny. Epecially the one with Grace like staring at the camera and then Miss Arney immitated what Grace was thinking, "Why are we still talking about my grandma?"
ReplyDeleteWhen we were writing our Facebook statues for Romeo, almost everyone wrote FML.
ReplyDeleteI added "g@m tybalt" into mine, and had to explain to Miss Arney that "g@m" means get at me. I think I described it as meaning the same thing as "come at me bro"!
Also,
ReplyDeletefor the past month I've been following the Quarter 3 Random Musings blog wondering why no one has been writing on it. Today I wrote something and had a question, and Tracey told me that the blog was closed since it's the 4th quarter.
......I feel dumb
Awwwww.... lol Missy its k. Well today, we were keeping points for our group while working on the soliloquey for Juliet and Grace was keeping the points and anytime anyone said anything, it was a point. There were even "points for caring" and "points for being quiet". It made no sense lol but everyone got a lot of points. Also, everyone was only pointing out Juliets interesting "puns" and not answering the qs...
ReplyDeleteJeremy and I are "the corner" that can't talk during the___puns
ReplyDeleteTerence's pskf during the rap...
ReplyDeleteFor the R&J rap-
ReplyDeleteBilly as Romeo and Tay-Hodge as Juliet...

Kevin's dancing around the classroom during the rap. I could barely look at him without laughing hysterically.
ReplyDeleteI know some people saw this but today while Miss DeNoyelles was in the room my Lord of the Flies book went randomly flying off of my desk and almost hit her. I felt so bad because Miss DeNoyelles probably thought I was trying to kill her!
ReplyDeleteWell, its okay Danielle because you are in good company with Jeremy. He always tried to kill Miss DeNoyelles last year with his incredible amount of books all over the floor!!!! lol haha jeremy...
ReplyDeleteThis is really delayed, but I saw that the other day Danielle it was so funny!
